Anti-Spam Policy

Updated as of August 20, 2023

We at Murray Marketing Services take pride in promoting responsible online commerce through our service offerings and exceptional support. However, as the Internet's growth has opened doors to progress, it has also paved the way for instances of fraud and misuse of network resources.

Specifically, the proliferation of "spam" has emerged as a significant issue for both our customers and the broader online community. Spam refers to the sending of unsolicited emails, instant messages, or other communications to a large number of recipients simultaneously. This includes off-topic and often promotional messages on bulletin boards, guestbooks, Usenet newsgroups, or chat rooms.

At Murray Marketing Services, we strictly prohibit spam in accordance with our Terms of Service. Any customer found to have used spam in connection with their Murray Marketing Services account will face immediate account suspension without refund.

The following policy outlines the acceptable use of bulk email/messaging with Murray Marketing Services.

Subscriptions

  • Mailing list subscribers must explicitly opt into the list they're joining. This applies to new subscriptions and the bulk addition of addresses already subscribed through other means. Confirmation involves a single confirmation message sent to the subscriber's email. This message must contain a URL to the site's privacy policy, a brief description of the mailing list, and a URL the user must follow to confirm.
  • Subscriber information must include confirmation date, time, and the IP address used at the time. This information must be available upon request from Murray Marketing Services.
  • The usage nature of email addresses must be transparent, either on the subscription page or with a clear link to the site's Privacy Policy. It should be reasonably evident how user email addresses will be used and shared.
  • Lists cannot be obtained from external parties unless the sender has procured a list from an organization that sells or shares email distribution lists. Specific conditions must be met, including a publicly viewable privacy policy and maintaining a consistent policy.
  • Subscribers cannot be contacted for substantially different purposes than initially disclosed.
  • All subscriptions must be reconfirmed as described in Subscriptions (Section 1) before sending bulk email messages.

Mailing Practices

  • Headers of messages must not be altered to obscure the message's origin.
  • Undeliverable addresses must be removed after no more than 5 bounces.
  • Users are responsible for affiliates' actions, treating them as if they were an external advertising agency.
  • Users employing outside advertising firms or third-party mailing programs must adhere to the same policies as those using Murray Marketing Services' bulk mailing tools.
  • Clear opt-out instructions must be provided, and efforts must be made to promptly remove subscribers upon request.

Spamware

  • Selling software designed to facilitate spamming is strictly prohibited in conjunction with your Murray Marketing Services account.

Disablement

  • Murray Marketing Services reserves the right to disable any account if there's reasonable suspicion of spamming.
  • Responding to spam-related inquiries within 72 hours is essential. Failure to do so within a reasonable time may lead to account suspension.

By adhering to these guidelines and respecting your visitors' privacy, you can harness the benefits of responsible online commerce. If you have any queries about using bulk email appropriately, contact us for further information.
